Head of Purchasing Job Description
The Head of Purchasing will support operational efficiency and quality in engineering output by overseeing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
Main Responsibilities:
* Coordination of purchasing at company level
* Support the Project Manager in defining and implementing the divisional purchasing strategy
* Implementation and further development of group-wide and division-wide Material Group Management
* Optimisation of replenishment times and implementation of a multi-supplier strategy
* Ensure the availability of materials
* Lead on reduction in material costs
* Manage Purchasing Department staff
* Develop purchasing methods and tools
* Take responsibility for purchasing control
* Lead in all purchasing project portfolio
Requirements:
* 5+ years of experience in procurement management
* Sound knowledge of procurement strategies
* Educated to degree level or hold relevant qualifications coupled with extensive experience
