Design Build Search is working with a leading cost and management consultancy in South Dublin. Due to growth plans, they have an opportunity for an experienced Cost Director (QS). The successful applicant will be involved in the strategic growth of the business. Within this position, you will be responsible for the commercial division within our client's Dublin office. This role involves managing large multi-million euro contracts and leading a QS team of 3-4 members.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Degree qualified in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying.
2. Chartered QS.
3. 12+ years’ PQS experience.
4. Previous PQS experience required.
5. Previous Irish experience required.
6. Previously held a management position within a consultancy.
Responsibilities include:
1. Managing all QS duties within the Dublin office.
2. Manage a team of 4 senior QS from Senior to AD level.
3. Analyse blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour costs vs estimates.
4. All quantity surveying duties including measurements, valuation and agreement of work sections.
5. Competent in all forms of estimating packages, Microsoft Excel and Word.
6. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction manager/supervisors to discuss cost.
7. Monitor cost from vendors or subcontractors, explore variances, manage issues in conjunction with the manager, deal with cost overseas and recovery.
8. Report on actual costs and examine estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
9. Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
10. Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
11. Set up cost monitoring and reporting system and procedures.
12. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data to be effective on cost reduction.
