Newly renovated and extensively refurbished, The Plaza Hotel offers a unique blend of style and comfort. Our hotel is comprised of exciting new eateries, two large naturally lit event spaces, and four meeting suites.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for painting, repairing, and maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of our hotel. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Painting Duties:
* Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching holes, and priming.
* Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
* Select and mix paints and other coatings to match colours and textures.
* Remove old paint using paint removers, scrapers, wire brushes, or blowtorches.
* Ensure quality and uniformity in paint application.
General Maintenance Duties:
* Perform repairs on walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and other surfaces.
* Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and materials needed for painting and maintenance tasks.
* Assist in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other basic facility maintenance tasks as needed.
* Conduct routine inspections to identify issues and recommend necessary repairs.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
About The Role Requirements:
* Proven experience as a painter and/or maintenance worker.
* Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and tools.
* Understanding of maintenance procedures, including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
