Key Responsibilities as Design Manager
As a Design Manager, you will drive an embedded Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) culture, promoting a continually progressive environment centered around our number one core value: Safety.
You will liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project.
* Responsible for design management and coordination, including technical submittals.
* Lead Project Team functions, including PEP, Risk & Commercial Success, Financials, Processes, HSEQS, Stakeholder Management, Project Administration, Design Management, and Project Close Out.
* Compile and implement the Project Execution Plan, specifically referencing the HSE & Quality plan.
Prepare contract reports and provide updates to monthly cost meetings. Develop project plans and schedules, and execute plans to achieve agreed outcomes.
Coordinate project activities in accordance with our Quality System, Standard Quality Procedures, and Engineering Specifications.
Manage the day-to-day life cycle of the project from initial stages through to hand-over.
Qualifications/Experience
Required qualifications include a Degree in an Engineering discipline (Civil, Structural, or Construction Management).
Experience ideally within a main/specialist contractor, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
A strong understanding of the construction industry and project execution, along with computer literacy and familiarity with MS Office and project scheduling packages, is also essential.
In addition, good knowledge of safety management and quality management, leadership, and mentoring skills are required.
