Legal Counsel - Renewable Energy
We are working with a leading international renewable energy company in their search for a Legal Counsel to join their growing legal team. This organization is a pioneer in solar and energy storage, driving utility-scale projects from conception to completion.

The client operates across multiple jurisdictions, delivering innovative renewable energy projects in key markets, including the UK, Ireland, Australia, and mainland Europe. With a strong commitment to sustainability, their projects span all stages of development, including real estate, energy transactions, financing, and corporate structuring.
The Role
This is a broad and varied position within the legal team, providing comprehensive legal support to the organization as it continues its rapid growth. The role offers autonomy while requiring collaboration across departments, supporting projects at every stage of their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Real Estate Support: Assist the development team in negotiating land agreements, including heads of terms, leases, easements, and other site-related contracts.
* Due Diligence: Conduct thorough site investigations, including title reviews, analysis of searches, and overall site assembly.
* Development and Funding: Support funding arrangements such as project finance and related agreements.
* Project Lifecycle: Provide legal advice and support on compliance, planning, and construction-related queries.
* Corporate Transactions: Assist with corporate restructuring, M&A, joint ventures, and disposals.
* Commercial Contracts: Review and negotiate contracts with third-party suppliers, service providers, and advisors.
* External Counsel Management: Liaise with and instruct external legal advisors.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* Legal Expertise: At least 3 years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained in a top-tier firm or in-house environment.
* Specialist Experience: A background in real estate, energy projects, financing, and corporate transactions.
* Planning Insight: Familiarity with planning-related legal matters is a bonus.
* Key Competencies: Excellent drafting, communication, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
* Problem-Solving: The ability to work independently, managing competing priorities and solving complex legal challenges.
* Collaboration: A team-oriented mindset with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
