Turner Lovell has been appointed by a leading infrastructure engineering services company to source a PICW / Electrical Supervisor to join their team in Ireland. This is a long-standing business that is continuing to grow and this role will specifically work on HV Substations within their Power Transmission & Distribution project delivery team.
Projects will focus on the installation of electrical infrastructure including AIS & GIS HV/LV switchgear, transformers, cables, control and protection, metering, light and power cabling, and connection of mobile generators.
Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as a role model for all safety related matters, thereby supporting the Project Manager in developing and delivering safety culture within the team.
Identifying, communicating, and implementing OSRA/JSSP prior to work commencing.
Delivery of installation works in accordance with project programme.
Liaising with the Project Manager to ensure all safety critical information and operational method changes are communicated.
Ensuring all site work is carried out inline with established procedures, as established by the client.
Coordinating on project procurement requirements.
Ensuring all tools and equipment for a safe working environment are available and they are maintained in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and inline with policies and procedures.
Ensuring all approved PPE Is available on site and that the team are using it appropriately.
Assisting the Project Manager with performing safety inspections to high standards
Managing site staff and subcontractors
Interfacing with client stakeholders
To be considered, you should hold a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft in Electrical or equivalent, IOSH Managing Safety in Construction, be knowledgeable of HV systems, and have an awareness and respect for safety legislation on site. Holding PICW Approval on Substations is desirable, but training is available for anyone with strong experience and the desire to develop themselves.
