Project Manager Role
The Project Manager will report to the Chief Operations Officer and be responsible for managing public lighting projects in the Connacht Region.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and cost objectives.
2. Analyse and report project portfolio performance, including KPI monitoring, budget, cost control, risk management, client billing, cash flow, and implementing rapid recovery as required.
3. Manage project tasks and key deliverables via detailed schedules and programmes of works for projects.
4. Coordinate workflows between site crews, subcontractors, and other relevant parties.
5. Act as primary point of contact between clients, subcontractors, designers, and other stakeholders.
6. Prepare and present detailed progress reports to clients and management.
7. Manage changes and variations in project scope, communicating them effectively to the QS team for pricing and cost recovery.
8. Participate in the implementation of business operating systems to improve efficiency throughout the organisation.
9. Manage a high-performing team ensuring all goals and objectives are met in line with company values.
Requirements
Education
A qualified Level 8 Degree in Project Management or Energy/Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering is required.
Experience
1. Minimum 5 years' experience in project management delivering projects.
2. Demonstrable evidence of strong commercial acumen and client relationship management.
3. Experience in applying lean principles to work activities.
4. Strong organisational and time management skills to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Excellent IT skills using Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel.
7. Ability to make ethical decisions in challenging situations.
8. Strong technical understanding of the electrical construction/utility industry.
9. Familiarity with project management tools to streamline planning, tracking, and reporting processes.
10. Customer-oriented mindset to ensure project outcomes align with client expectations.
11. Flexibility to adapt to changes in project scope, schedules, and priorities.
