The Panel is exclusively engaged to source a Head of Risk on behalf of a bespoke independent Asset Manager in Dublin city centre on a permanent basis This critical role is primarily responsible for risk management, encompassing both fund risk and operational risk (including cyber security), and will require the successful candidate to hold Chief Risk Officer (PCF-14), Designated Person for Operational Risk Management (PCF-39B) and Designated Person for Fund Risk Management (PCF-39C) designations. This is a role that will be suited to a candidate at Manager/Senior Manager level looking to make a step up to a role at a higher level with more responsibility Responsibilities Maintain a comprehensive risk management framework in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational risks across all business functions, including IT and third-party vendors. Oversee the risk profile of UCITS funds and Individual Portfolio Mandates, ensuring adherence to risk limits, liquidity requirements and other regulatory constraints. Prepare and maintain the ICAAP (Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process). Prepare and deliver regulatory reporting, ensuring timely and accurate communication with regulatory bodies. Prepare, review and present comprehensive board reports, ensuring transparent communication to the Board and senior management to support decision-making. Collaborate closely with the internal auditors and promptly address any audit findings with effective corrective actions. Monitor and implement new regulatory requirements and industry best practices in risk management. Manage IT infrastructure and cybersecurity matters. Engage and maintain effective relationships with regulators, legal teams, external service providers and other key stakeholders. Requirements Previous experience in risk management within the investment management/ Fund Admin industry. Proficiency in risk management tools, quantitative analysis and stress-testing methodologies. Excellent understanding of UCITS and MiFID regulations, as well as CBI guidelines. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, mathematics, business). Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders including regulators and legal advisors. Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and external partners. Demonstrated adaptability and resilience in dynamic environments, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
