We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking Site Reliability Engineer to join our newly formed Site Reliability Team. You will be a hands-on technical lead, responsible for both crafting strategy and implementing a wide and deep set of tools and practices focused in the site reliability/observability/Application Performance Monitoring space.
What You’ll Do:
Lead our system observability effort leveraging New Relic and other tools
Serve as our in-house expert on site reliability practices and tooling, and strive to mentor and educate other engineers and business leaders
Implement new tooling, features, processes, and cascade standards to junior team members for adoption/implementation
Participate in 24x7 operational support and on-call rotation shifts to prevent incidents from happening.
Participate in incident response and failure analysis
Monitor, analyze, automate, and improve the reliability, performance, and availability of software systems
Collaborate with cross functional teams to create, monitor, and troubleshoot the system infrastructure
Collaborate with the engineering team on projects as the expert on reliability, performance, and efficiency
Ensure that all system design and procedures are clearly documented and up to date
Monitor and stress test systems to collect metrics for tuning and capacity planning
Work to automate detection and resolution of recurring issues
Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating for continual improvement
Provide training and education to engineers on infrastructure and internal tooling
Conduct recurring infrastructure and application-level audits to ensure reliability, performance, and availability of software systems
Contribute to the improvement of our infrastructure, application, and security service levels, compliance, cost and internal team processes and procedures
Deliver articulate and effective presentation
Actively participate in our Agile engineering processes
Ensure all work aligns with quality, operational, and architectural standards, contributing to the overarching success of our organization
Who You Are:
A technologist with demonstrable experience across a variety of fronts, including:
Cloud Computing
Security and Monitoring
Windows and Linux Server Management
CICD Automation Solutions
APM Tooling
Networking
Automation and Scripting
Relational Databases
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
You to learn new technology, and have a solid base of existing experience with implementing and leverage New Relic across the enterprise
You are a troubleshooter at heart; you can identify and solve for data-related performance and quality issues in high pressure situations

Essential Knowledge / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience, with at least 5 years of experience designing and implementing back-end systems, databases/data lakes, and observability tools in the cloud
A minimum of 5 years of experience monitoring and improving production and lower-level environments and systems that live in the cloud (Azure/AWS)
Proven ability to influence and mentor others within an agile team environment
Highly proficient in New Relic
Experience in the financial industry is a plus
