Electrical Shift Technician

Overview of the role:
The utilities electrical shift technician is responsible for monitoring, operating and first line maintenance of the Utilities equipment in a cGMP environment, in the relevant area and in accordance with relevant site Standard Operating Procedures and Engineering Work Instructions. The shift technician is responsible for the execution of the day-to-day shift tasks as per the shift Lead requirements.
Day to day of the role:
1. Monitoring relevant control systems for GMP and Non GMP alarms.
2. Responsible for escalation of alarms in accordance with relevant escalation procedures and SOP's.
3. Investigating alarms as per relevant procedures.
4. Operating utilities equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
5. Operating utilities equipment to maintain high standard of plant uptime in support of Contract KPI's.
6. Carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with site maintenance procedures.
7. Carrying out technical investigation.
8. Carrying out field rounds and readings of utilities equipment.
9. Participate in maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and safety.
10. Review permit to work before signing off.
11. Act as lockout coordinator for Control of Hazardous Energy.
12. Work with vendors and third-party contractors as required.
13. Collaborate with maintenance and calibration teams on the execution of scheduled calibrations, corrective and preventative work as required to meet contact deliverables.
14. Ensure complete execution on time of all operations and maintenance activities on specific utilities equipment.
15. Carry out the review of Utilities Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions as required.
16. Manage own training curricula and review training performance (ITP) with shift lead.
17. To liaise with the engineering and commissioning teams on all Utilities Equipment.
18. CUB Coordinator is the starting point for internal escalation processes.
19. Raise reports as required, including safety, TIR and MIR.
20. Actively improve equipment and process knowledge through the use of FDS, SOO and Equipment Data Books etc.
Required skills for this role:
1. Apprenticeship or 3rd Level qualification with electrical experience.
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical utilities or process maintenance.
3. Worked in a Shift Team or as part of a Maintenance Team.
4. Knowledge of Utilities Systems as per the below.
5. Worked in a Pharmaceutical, Brewery, Dairy and Food Industry.
6. Worked in a regulated Industry (FDA, IMB, NSAI).
7. Good working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for a wide range of plant equipment: Proven capability of working with Pumps, HVAC systems, Air Compressors, Steam Boilers and Steam Systems ancillary services, Domestic Hot Water, Refrigerant Chillers, Cooling towers, Clean Steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems, Sterilization Systems, Low Voltage electrical systems, PLC's, Building Management Systems (Honeywell, Emerson Delta V), Understanding of Basic Instrumentation.
8. Understanding of SOP's and cGMP engineering systems.
