Expatriate Tax Manager
The Role of the Expatriate Tax Manager involves providing expert advice to clients on international tax planning implications, ensuring assignees are tax compliant in various jurisdictions, and preparing technical advice on tax issues including legislation and case law research. The successful candidate will advise companies on withholding obligations for cross-border employees, deliver training presentations, and provide regular technical training sessions to tax trainees. Strong client relationships must be built and maintained in compliance and consulting projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in expatriate tax serving an international client base, with strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, and a deep understanding of employment tax and other relevant taxes. Key Responsibilities include:
• Advising clients on the planning implications of international assignments
• Liaising with global tax partners to ensure assignees are tax compliant in various host jurisdictions
• Preparing detailed technical advice in relation to various tax issues
• Advising companies on their withholding obligations in respect to cross-border employees
• Preparing and delivering training presentations to various departments within the firm
• Providing regular technical training sessions to tax trainees
• Managing and building strong client relationships
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• At least 5 years of expatriate tax experience servicing an international client base
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills including report writing and presentation skills
• A strong employment tax technical knowledge will be essential in addition to knowledge of other taxes
