Job Description Summary The Taxonomist will take ownership of the taxonomy map, ensuring its maintenance, extension, and evangelization across the ecosystem.
This role involves documenting and socializing the logic and idiosyncrasies between data definitions, focusing on business and process logic as well as platform and data set idiosyncrasies.
The Taxonomist will conduct thorough research into business practices, technology platforms, regulatory requirements, and historical idiosyncrasies across various groups, geographies, market categories, and other dimensions to create cohesive solutions that span multiple instances of these dimensions.
Job Description Key Responsibilities: Maintain the Taxonomy Map: Provide updates as changes occur organically over time.Extend the Taxonomy Map: Integrate additional platforms from the ecosystem.Evangelize the Taxonomy: Socialize its existence and benefits to individual groups and integrations within the ecosystem.Document and Socialize Logic and Idiosyncrasies: Capture and communicate the business and process logic, as well as platform and data set idiosyncrasies that exist between data definitions.Socialize Taxonomy Details: Share the existence and specifics of the taxonomy with various groups seeking normalized reference data.Improve Data Hygiene: Focus on enhancing data hygiene wherever possible.Engage in Platform and Data Integration Projects: Participate in individual platform and data integration projects to drive harmonization efforts.Stay Informed and Proactive: Keep abreast of projects where the taxonomy can add value and actively promote the benefits of adopting harmonized concepts.Documentation and Project Work: Engage in the necessary documentation and project-based work to convert data integrations from concept to reality.Essential Requirements: At least 3 years of experience in a digital product development team.Taxonomy and Ontology Development: Experience in creating and managing taxonomies and ontologies is crucial.
This includes understanding how to classify and organize information effectively.Marketing Insight: Understanding marketing principles and strategies is essential.
