Location: ON SITE 100% in Dublin
This role is responsible for testing and delivering complex software to accomplish business outcomes. These individuals are subject matter experts on testing practices ensuring that software is tested to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. They help condition and generate test data, build and execute both manual and automated test suites, record and communicate the test results, and assist with triaging defects. They also ensure regression test suites are maintained and well designed.
Primary Level of Engagement: Works as a team member under supervision from a more senior domain expert.
Primary Interactions: Product Owner, Scrum Master, Development Team, Feature Lead, Architect and Test Community of Practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test cases based on functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
2. Lead test planning, usually at a team level. When part of a Scrum team, ensure stories are well refined and contain clear acceptance criteria. Work with scrum team to refine the acceptance criteria as needed.
3. Ensure in-scope and out-of-scope items are clearly identified during test planning.
4. Implement the test framework for the team.
5. Lead test case reviews and work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure test coverage.
6. Identify automation opportunities and develop test automation for applicable test types.
7. Help condition and generate test data and ensure data compliance requirements are met on all levels of test environments. Assist in identifying and managing sensitive test data.
8. Execute test cases, including manual and automated tests, and record test results.
9. Report issues and defects along with the appropriate background information for review.
10. Participate in triaging reported issues/defects and assist with resolving or escalating them as necessary.
11. Create and manage traceability. Trace tests forwards/backwards through the development lifecycle and back to requirements.
12. Use testing tools and follow processes to complete testing on a given test environment, and assist with fulfilment of necessary steps required to promote code base to higher level environments.
13. Maintain and catalogue test suites across test types (Smoke, Integration, Regression, etc.)
Required Skills:
1. Basic knowledge and familiarity with qTest, Jira, Toad (or any other similar DB viewer)
2. Demonstrable understanding of SQL queries and the ability to manipulate data
3. Ability to design and develop manual and automated test plans within an application
4. Basic knowledge of automation and continuous delivery practices
5. Demonstrates working knowledge of Agile/Waterfall frameworks
Desired Skills:
1. Familiarity with Automation testing tools like Cypress
2. Demonstrable understanding of Javascript
