Automation Engineer Navan - Insulation Your future job Unilin Insulation is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, implement, optimize and maintain automated systems within our manufacturing environment to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
In this new role you will collaborate with the Projects Department to deliver automation solutions as part of site improvement initiatives, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to budgetary constraints.
#insulationuk Key Attributes: Engineering Degree qualification in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline, or equivalent apprenticeship qualification.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in automation engineering, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify practical solutions.
Knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial networks.
Familiarity with robotics, vision systems, and other advanced automation technologies is a plus.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Methodical approach to tasks and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CAD software is advantageous.
Flexible and adaptable to changing project demands.
Key Tasks and Duties: Develop and implement automation solutions to enhance manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with project teams to integrate automation technologies into new and existing equipment.
Manage automation-related aspects of site projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and timelines.
Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures for automated systems.
Work closely with the Maintenance and Production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues in automation systems.
Program, test, and validate PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems.
Optimize machine performance and energy efficiency through automation.
Source and evaluate automation components and systems for cost-effectiveness and performance.
Manage contractors and ensure adherence to company Health & Safety policies.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including manuals, schematics, and SOPs.
Provide training and technical support to site personnel on automation systems.
Perform fault finding on automated systems to ensure minimal downtime and efficient operation.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the adoption of best practices in automation.
Liaise with the Engineering Project Manager UK/IRL and other Unilin sites to share knowledge and drive innovation.
Participate in commissioning and handover processes for automated systems.
Travel to Unilin and OEM sites as required to support project implementation.
