We are seeking an Environmental Consultant to join our team to support the delivery of a broad range of projects. Role:
1. Lead and manage multidisciplinary environmental inputs for environmental impact assessment projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
2. Provide expert advice on environmental planning matters.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and architects, to integrate environmental considerations into project designs.
4. Prepare and review environmental reports, including Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Reports, Construction Environmental Management Plans, Resource Waste Management Plans, and the technical review of specialist reports.
5. Liaise with regulatory authorities and agencies as necessary for project development.
6. Represent the company at client meetings, public consultations, and regulatory hearings.
7. Mentor and support junior staff members, providing guidance on environmental regulations and best practices.
Requirements:
1. A third level qualification (Degree/Masters) in environmental science or related discipline.
2. Minimum of 8+ years relevant experience preferred.
3. Strong expertise in environmental impact assessments and planning.
4. Strong knowledge of relevant Irish and European planning and environmental legislation, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks.
5. Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
6. Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
7. Be self-motivated and result-driven.
8. Deliver projects in an efficient and timely manner.
9. Experience mentoring and supervising junior staff members is desirable.
10. Professional certifications or memberships in relevant professional bodies (e.g., IEMA, CIWEM) are advantageous.
