About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Care Worker to join our team in Dublin, Ireland. The successful candidate will work with vulnerable or dependent clients, providing care, protection, and support.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement Care and Placement Plans, ensuring accurate recording of same.
* Promote the rights and responsibilities of each young person within the Service.
* Support the physical, emotional, social, and religious/spiritual welfare of each young person in care.
* Encourage attendance at school, training centres, medical and clinical appointments.
* Organise personal documents, arrangements, information, and finance on behalf of the young person.
* Liaise with parents, families, general services, and other agencies on behalf of the young person.
* Attend meetings regarding the care and development of the young person.
* Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with each young person.
* Use physical intervention when necessary, adhering to local policies and procedures.
Requirements
* A Third-level Degree in Social Care.
* A Full clean driving license.
* Proven experience working in a social care setting, preferably with marginalized clients/groups.
* A working knowledge of social issues affecting young people, particularly those with trauma and attachment issues.
* The ability to manage and support young people in crisis, based on best practice values and principles.
* Working knowledge of national standards for children's residentials and key working, assessments, and care planning.
