Full-time Onsite (Straight Days - Monday to Friday) The industry My client modifies and delivers customised manufacturing solutions in the areas of Heating, Ventilation, Hot water, and Renewable Energy, operating in the Irish and UK markets. In our state-of-the-art facility in North Dublin where they develop and manufacture a wide range of products using innovative designs and utilising modern production methods. The ideal candidate for the Senior R&D Role A Mechanical, Mechatronic or Industrial Design background with at least 3+ years experience in Mechanical Design Engineering Ideal candidates would have pipe work, sheet metal, HVAC industrial experience or similar experience Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks and AutoCAD, or similar) Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and designing products for cost-effective production The Role in Detail: The role includes leading and managing Research and Development of new and existing products, reporting to the R&D and/or Project Manager. Responsible for delivering robust technical solutions to complex problems. Work closely with the R&D management team. The R&D/ Design Engineer will be a central part of the R&D team, taking care of Part & Product Design, Bill of Materials Control, Product Testing and Production Support, where required. Lead and manage research and development of new and existing products and components- ensuring they meet technical, user, and business requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Sales, Production, Technical and Product Management, to define project goals, deliverables, and success criteria. Design, develop, and implement innovative solutions, prototypes, and proof-of-concept models based on project requirements. Conduct design reviews, provide feedback, and incorporate changes based on testing and stakeholder input. Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, sharing best practices and technical knowledge. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
