Assistant Manager
A leading sports retailer seeks an experienced Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operations of their Limerick store.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all aspects of day-to-day store operations, including sales, staff management, customer experience, security, health and safety, stock management, and resource allocation.
* Meet or exceed store targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Recruit, train, coach, and manage a team of retail professionals in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Manage cash handling, wage costs, budgets, and system administration.
* Develop and implement effective Visual Merchandising strategies to engage customers and promote products.
* Ensure adequate staffing for in-store services such as footwear measuring and assisted selling.
* Monitor store security and follow guidelines to prevent shoplifting and protect stock.
* Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all staff are trained on Health and Safety procedures.
* Identify customer needs and develop strategies to drive non-direct business growth.
* Implement company projects successfully and maintain high store standards.
* Serve as key holder and main contact in case of alarm activation.
* Provide coverage for other stores as needed.
Requirements:
* Minimum 2-3 years of retail management experience.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and people management skills.
* Prior experience in delivering excellent customer experiences and understanding its impact on sales and profitability.
* Desirable: experience in Visual Merchandising and product knowledge.
* Strong proficiency in IT, including Excel, email, and SAP.
* Third-level Business/Retail Management qualification is beneficial but not essential.
