Evening Shift Supervisor - Cheese Facility - La Rousse Foods

With our own butchery, cheese-maturing room, and chocolate lab, La Rousse Foods can provide bespoke solutions at short notice to cater to our customers' ever-changing needs.
We are looking for a Supervisor for our cheese room in Park West. You will work alongside the Cheese Production Manager and will look after orders within the evening shift.
Key Responsibilities:
* Receive cheese orders and check for quality issues in packaging and cheeses.
* Enter orders into the stock intake system.
* Check stock is stored in correct date order - on a ‘last in, last out’ basis.
* Cut cheese to order – recording stock movement on the Emydex system (e.g., Cheese Storage to Production).
* Ensure all stock is scanned at every stage of movement (e.g., from Storage to Cutting Room and scanning out for shipment).
* Prepare outgoing shipments to tight deadlines – ensuring all cheese is scanned out of Emydex for traceability and stock management.
* Prepare sample boxes for the Sales Team: ensuring the Salesperson has placed an order onto the system and all stock/cheese pieces are scanned out before they are given to the Sales rep.
* Select cheese that is perfectly ripe and in the best condition for the customer.
* Cut cheese from full wheels – rind shape and neatness essential.
* Share knowledge about cheese styles, quality control, storage, and wrapping with the warehouse cheese team.
* Wrap cut cheese in cheese paper, to best-in-class presentation standards.
* Pack orders - order assembly.
* Log orders - manual & on computer.
* Ensure the proper storage of cheese.
* Check cheese room throughout the day to ensure cheese is maintained in the best condition.
* Report quality issues or queries to the Cheese Category Manager and the QC department.
* Deal with trimming, rind overgrowth, catching quality issues early, and addressing them.
* Clean cheese storage room and cut cheese production room according to QC training courses.
* Collaborate with: Speciality Cheese Category Manager, Food Safety & Quality Manager, Cheese Buyer, Cheese Cutting staff.
* Attend cheese training and customer events, both on-site and off-site.
* Perform ad hoc duties as requested by the Warehouse Manager primarily in relation to cheese. When time allows, offer help to the Warehouse team.
* Present product range to customers.
* Be an outgoing, energetic individual, with a passion for food.
* Be organized and competent in planning.
* Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fast-moving food environment.
* Enjoy eating cheese and willing to taste all cheeses in our range.
* Maintain exceptional hygiene and cleanliness.
* Have an interest in becoming an expert in farmhouse, live-mould cheese.
* Exhibit strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
* Be able to work in cold temperatures.
* Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
