A Director of Finance is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Galway based client. The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and strategic Director of Finance to lead the financial operations of the Galway facilities. This role is critical in driving financial performance, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and supporting long-term business growth. The ideal candidate will bring deep financial acumen, strong leadership capabilities, and a solid understanding of the Manufacturing/Operations sector. We need someone with very strong operational experience who will provide visibility of cost and budgets to drive accountability, lead financial planning and budget processes, have an excellent knowledge of regulators and statutory bodies etc. This person will be part of the Site Leadership Team. HYBRID ROLE THE ROLE: Provide financial leadership & support to the site leadership team, including Financial Analysis to support business development Member of the site leadership team, participating in leadership meetings and plant decisions to grow the business, formulation of strategies & plans Provide strategic financial leadership across the business, partnering with executive management to drive decision-making and performance Oversee financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to support both short-term and long-term business goals Key finance support for line expansion and new product opportunities being brought into the plant Manage the Financial requirements in support of business plans, financial modeling and capital expenditure etc. Oversee continuous improvement of Accounting & Financial processes, and the development of the Finance team with the goal to achieve best practices and optimal output Manage high performing Finance team, motivate & develop direct reports Ensure that all regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding all the companys financial affairs Budgetary Preparation & Control. Allied with continued improvement of the Financial forecasting processes Present various financial & operational results to site leadership. Work closely with the external ERP provider to develop on-going enhancements to the system. Work closely with Operations & Sourcing to ensure we reduce costs in all products, with special emphasis on those that are manufactured in-house. Nurture and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, in particular with Corporate partners across all functions, Key Service Providers, and State agencies. Specialist project /assignments covering a diverse range of business issues. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS ACCA or A.C.A. 10+ years Industry/Manufacturing experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. Must have a strong knowledge in Accounting principles. Must be a strategically minded, qualified Accountant with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interpreting complex data. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
