Brokerage is a key distribution channel accounting for approximately half of Irish Life's total retail sales volume through circa 1,600 intermediary relationships.
To support our ambition to grow in the retail intermediary market, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Sales Manager (GWL13) reporting to the Brokerage Head of Sales.
Role OverviewThe key purpose of this role is to lead one of 3 Brokerage regions to drive new business sales, margin, retention and cost targets.
This is achieved internally via proactive leadership, sales management, and coaching of a team of Account Managers.
Externally, the development and maintenance of effective relationships with aligned brokers in three distribution channels is critical to create lasting loyalty resulting in higher sales, improved persistency, and deeper engagement.
In addition, as a member of the Brokerage Executive Team, the role holder will actively contribute to the formation and development of Broker Strategy and lead on execution through the sales channels.
More specific responsibilities will includeCommercial Growth & Objectives: Drive growth to meet ambitious commercial objectives through team flexibility, effective sales activity and accountability for key performance indicators (sales, margin, persistency, digital adoption, cost management etc).Strategic Leadership & Direction: Work closely with proposition teams, to develop, propose, gain acceptance and implement the strategic plan for the sales team, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives.
Identify cross sell opportunities across all Business units.Proposition Deployment: Manage and deploy tactical pricing in line with Broker Segmentation strategy, ensuring that our overall proposition is positioned and deployed effectively across the market.Performance Management & Accountability: Drive a high-performance culture by setting measurable goals, ensuring transparent reporting and holding teams accountable for results.Team Management & Development: Lead, develop & manage a team of L11 account managers and sales development specialists, across 3 distribution channels/managing key relationships, building talent for the present & succession planning for the future.Compliance & Best Practice: Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory & market conduct responsibilities, representing the organisation to key stakeholders, including regulators & shareholders.Cost Management: Oversee and manage costs within the sales division, ensuring budget adherence and effective cost control measures.Organisational Change & Transformation: Lead and drive change management initiatives to support business transformation and competitive positioning in the market.Market Insights: Stay well-informed of competitor and market propositions, linking in with Proposition Development to identify gaps in our proposition.
