About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our client, a leading provider of engineering solutions in Ireland.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating and experience working on large-scale projects in the construction, energy, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyzing project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to prepare accurate cost estimates;
* Preparing detailed cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services;
* Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to assess project costs and risks;
* Sourcing and evaluating quotes from suppliers and subcontractors;
* Maintaining a thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and market conditions to provide realistic and competitive pricing;
* Attending pre-tender meetings and site visits to understand project requirements and constraints;
* Preparing tender submissions and participating in the bid review process;
* Providing cost advice and support throughout the project lifecycle, from inception through to completion;
* Updating and maintaining estimating databases and records;
* Tracking and reporting on project costs to ensure they align with initial estimates and identify any discrepancies;
Skills and Qualifications:
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an Estimator, preferably within the construction and electrical sectors;
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards;
* Proficient in estimating software;
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to produce detailed and accurate cost estimates;
* Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously;
* Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors;
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is desirable;
* Knowledge of current construction costs, pricing trends, and material suppliers;
* Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving;
