Role And Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
1. Report to project management team and provide weekly/monthly updates on programme and subcontractors progress.
2. Manage site staff and all contractors coming on to your project and currently on your Project.
3. Constant interaction and guidance to construction operatives on site.
4. As the Site Manager you will work closely and report to your Project Manager, Contracts Manager/Director to ensure business objectives and project strategies are met and exceeded.
5. Take responsibility for managing day to day activities on-site throughout the project lifecycle, assist Project Team to ensure the successful delivery of the project on time and within budget.
6. Ensure that appropriate SHEQ personnel are copied in all subcontractors’ appointments and when starting on site.
7. Establish Construction Programmes for projects with your respective Project Manager.
8. Check and understand all drawings and specifications. Ensure that any errors/omissions are formally communicated to the design team in a timely manner.
9. Ensure RFI’s and Technical Submittals are issued to the Design Team and that all registers are kept up to date on the Bretland IMS.
10. Establish project resource requirements and lead/motivate the project team.
11. Monitor construction regarding quality of workmanship and materials and recording of same on the Bretland IMS.
12. Propose suitable changes to design to improve savings, ease construction programme, enhance specification and quality completion.
13. Commercially minded and ability to work with the project team including the QS to manage the project and meet the company objectives for each project.
14. Co-ordinate and liaise with your Project Manager, Site Engineers and services Coordinator to ensure that all subcontractors and site personnel have timely and accurate information.
15. Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, building regulations and good building practice.
16. Ensure compliance with local statutory and regulatory obligations.
17. Complete and issue daily progress reports.
18. Monitor and manage all agency labour on the projects, and only hire as and when required.
19. Ensure Agency time sheets are checked and signed off weekly by you, the PM & QS.
20. Workstations are clean.
21. Ensure all welfare and office areas are cleaned daily.
22. Implement onsite health and safety procedures and support H&S officer with implementing safety procedures.
23. Management of all aspects of SHEQ on site, ensuring compliance with the Company’s Environmental, H&S, and Quality Management Systems.
24. Ensure that all persons coming to site have completed inductions and have provided the necessary certifications to be onsite as required; Safepass, Manual Handling, CSCS, etc.
25. Ensure all operatives have signed in, are inducted, have the relevant permit for their works, receive weekly toolbox talks and are working to the appropriate risk assessments and method statements.
26. Liaise with SHEQ Department for ensuring Bretland RAMS are suitable for the task and SPA is in line with the methodology in the RAMS for the task.
27. Monitor Subcontractor RAMs as received and liaise with SHEQ Department for approval.
28. Ensure that Accident/Incidents are recorded/investigated as per Bretland Company procedures.
29. Ensure all permits or licenses for works are applied for in time and are in place before any activity commences.
30. Ensure Progress photos are taken to document works and stored appropriately on the cloud or Procore.
31. Ensure that all persons working on our projects have signed the latest version of their RAMS and always have their SPA with them.
32. Upload SPA’s to Bretland document control system.
33. Upload all permits including Clients to Bretland document control system.
34. Ensure the works are planned out in a logical manner paying particular attention to materials storage, deliveries, plant and traffic movements, craneage and any other site logistics.
35. Daily site reports to be issued to Senior Management and stored on Procore or uploaded to Bretland document control system.
36. Ensure all managers, engineers and sub-contractors are working to the latest construction issue information.
37. Ensure that all setting out is done in good time and its accuracy is checked.
38. Attendance at progress meetings is mandatory and ensure that updates on the following are provided.
