Health and Safety Officer - County Clare
* Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in line with current and future legislation and industry best practices.
* Provide guidance and support on health and safety matters to internal stakeholders and participate in consultations with the Safety Committees and Safety Representatives.
* Promote a positive health and safety culture of excellence and inclusion within the organisation.
* C coordinate and deliver health and safety training (company requirements, procedures, new legal requirements, inductions, etc.).
* Compile accident and investigation reports and data to support accident prevention and safety initiatives.
* Conduct regular audits and risk assessments of work areas, operations, and systems, and monitor corrective and preventative actions.
* Support emergency planning, evacuation procedures, and drills.
* Prepare and provide health and safety reports and metrics to Senior Management and administer Health and Safety software systems around document control, auditing, incident reporting, etc.
Requirements and Skills Sought:
* A third-level qualification in Health & Safety or a recognised safety qualification is required.
* At least 2-3 years of experience as a Safety Officer (experience in the manufacturing sector is an advantage but not mandatory).
* Experience in risk assessment and a strong understanding of Irish and EU health and safety legal requirements.
* A competent auditor and trainer with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A self-starter with problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
