This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 3 days minimum per week in the office.
The Operational Risk Manager will act as the Designated Person of Operational Risk, be responsible for the operational risks and will support the Chief Risk Officer with the control and oversight of the AIFM's Risk Management Framework. The role will have exposure to a wide range of activities within the AIFM as well as the Client Operations - Operational Risk, Corporate Vendor Management & Enterprise Continuous Improvement (ECI) Teams in Boston. The role will also serve as a key contact with internal departments such as Investment Management, Legal & Regulatory Compliance, Client Operations, and Investor Relations.
The ideal candidate is someone who has:
* Knowledge of AIFs and the processes that support them, including the risks involved with third-party involvement, operational risks, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
* In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations & guidance issued by the CBI/CSSF/ESMA including CP138 Outsourcing and CP140 Operational Resilience.
* Proven success in building & developing relationships with key stakeholders, internal & external.
* Adaptable, positive, solutions & communications focused.
* Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
What you will do:
Operational Risk
* Ongoing management, maintenance and embedding of the operational risk framework, covering all emerging and existing regulations and regulatory guidance, operational risk policies and related reporting.
* Identifying and investigating operational risk events, ensuring root cause analysis and control assessments are undertaken and maintaining an incident and error log. This will involve undertaking 'deep dive' reviews on significant and complex events to provide ongoing recommendations to enhance the control environment.
* Manage the delegate oversight framework, collaborating with various functions to perform operational due diligence assessments and outsourcing risk assessments on new and existing OSPs.
* Assisting the CRO with and maintaining annual risk and control self-assessments across the business and the periodic update of the ICAAP and the operational risk register.
Risk Management Framework
* Support the CRO to maintain a risk framework with supporting policies and procedures, designed to ensure that all applicable risks and controls pertaining to the Company and the AIFs under management can be identified, assessed, monitored, and managed at all times.
Operational Resilience
* Developing and implementing Operational Resilience Framework.
* Identifying critical business services / processes to assist with the performance of resiliency assessment.
* Risk rating critical and significant business process and third parties - and lead all aspects of the business due diligence process.
* And other responsibilities as required.
What you bring:
* Minimum 5 years of relevant operational risk experience.
* Management company experience or related consultant experience highly advantageous.
* Designated Person experience is highly advantageous.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in working collaboratively in a multi team environment.
Education Preferred:
* Third Level Degree in a related field.
* Suitable qualifications relative to PCF39C role.
Experience:
* 10+ Years related experience preferred.
