Role OverviewThis is a broad and dynamic role where you will gain experience across compliance, risk, legal, and IT security.
As Kota is a small and fast-growing company, you will be involved in a variety of areas and projects, contributing directly to the company's success.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee compliance frameworks related to insurance distribution, data protection, and financial crime prevention.Monitor regulatory developments from the CBI, FCA, and other EEA regulators, ensuring timely implementation of new requirements.Implement and maintain risk and compliance policies, aligning them with industry best practices.Conduct internal compliance audits, risk assessments, and monitoring programs.Develop and deliver compliance training for employees, fostering a strong culture of regulatory awareness.Ensure effective AML/CFT policies and procedures are embedded across the organisation.Manage the Fitness and Probity process to ensure regulatory compliance.Collaborate with internal teams, including go-to-market, product, engineering, and technology, to integrate compliance into business operations.Support the Head of Risk and Compliance in managing regulatory relationships and reporting obligations.Assist with internal management and Board reporting.Provide compliance support for new product launches and business initiatives.Knowledge, Skills, and Experience3+ years experience in compliance, risk, or legal roles within the insurance, insurtech, or financial services sector.Background in a fast-paced, start-up, or scale-up environment is advantageous.Relevant qualifications in compliance, risk management, or financial regulation (e.g., LCOI, ICA, ACAMS, or similar).Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within a team.Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to take initiative and work independently.Strong prioritisation and organisational skills.Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them effectively to business operations.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with regulators and internal stakeholders.What We ValueAt Kota, we foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and knowledge-sharing.
