We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Systems Administrator to join our client's dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our client's IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of servers, networks, and systems. You will also play a crucial role in planning, developing, and deploying advanced system solutions and addressing complex issues related to network security, performance, and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
* Manage and troubleshoot network, server, and storage infrastructure, including backups and disaster recovery processes.
* Monitor system performance and security, implement upgrades, patches, and updates to keep systems secure and up-to-date.
* Lead the design and implementation of system architectures, ensuring they meet current and future business requirements.
* Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the security and efficiency of our infrastructure.
* Collaborate with other IT professionals to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
* Provide advanced support for critical systems, resolving complex issues in a timely manner.
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls, ensuring security best practices.
* Mentor and support junior system administrators, providing guidance and training where needed.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
* 5+ years of experience in systems administration.
* Expertise in managing Windows and Linux-based systems, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange.
* Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
* Experience with network administration, including firewalls, switches, routers, and VPNs.
* Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and experience implementing security best practices.
* Proven experience in backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability systems.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues quickly.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.) are a plus.
