The Red Hat EMEA tax team is looking for someone to join their corporation tax team as a Tax Accountant. This person will have a wider range of responsibilities including US GAAP current and deferred tax accounting, maintaining ledgers from a tax perspective, sharing data with the Tax CoE Team for tax return preparation and filing, and responding to business queries.
What will you do:
1. Gather and provide data (primarily from Oracle and subsystems) to the Tax CoE Team on a timely basis to enable them to prepare corporate income tax computations and returns for assigned countries. This will include performance of comprehensive data analyses and resolution of notable data issues.
2. Preparation of quarterly and year-end US GAAP tax accounting provisions and posting of associated tax journals.
3. Preparation and submission of monthly reconciliations of current tax and deferred tax balances for assigned entities.
4. Responsible for making corporate income tax payments on banking portals on a timely basis and cash tax forecasting on a monthly basis.
5. Review and work with the R&D tax credit team to ensure the R&D tax credit process for assigned entities and ensure that final credit figures are available in time for corporate income tax return filing.
6. Key point of contact for all queries from the business and responsibilities for specific areas of expertise in assigned jurisdictions.
7. Maintain current knowledge of all tax laws affecting the assigned countries.
8. Support tax audits pertaining to the assigned entities.
9. Support the calculation for uncertain tax positions relating to corporate income tax for assigned entities.
10. If required, perform technical research and participate in strategic tax planning initiatives.
11. If required, work on problems and special projects of diverse scope and provide advanced tax support and guidance to other Red Hat departments in relation to same. This will require evaluation of identifiable factors and the exercise of sound judgement for the resolution of a wide range of issues in creative ways.
12. Network with senior internal and external personnel in areas of expertise.
What will you bring:
1. 3+ years of experience working in a tax role in Big 4 or industry.
2. A professional accounting qualification or certification (a professional tax qualification or certification would also be preferable).
3. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
5. Proficiency with Oracle.
6. Fluency in English, both oral and written.
