The role
We are currently recruiting for a financial accountant with strong technical accounting skills to join our Financial Reporting team on 12 month contract. The role is integral to supporting accurate financial reporting and contributing to the success of the finance strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Complete a range of financial reporting tasks (including Statutory reporting for production of financial reports and providing analysis and review of financial data) as required to meet business, commercial and regulatory requirements
2. Provide professional accountancy and commercial advice to multiple stakeholders in a range of business environments to inform business decision making
3. Drive the on-going delivery of robust, effective and efficient operational finance processes and controls and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
4. Support external and internal audit process
5. Work with the other teams (including cross jurisdiction) to ensure effective teamwork, role cover and commonality of best practice and direction
6. Support and active involvement in projects across the finance team
7. Represent Finance on governance forums for relevant projects
8. Ensure business readiness criteria are agreed and delivered for key projects
9. Ensure adequate training and involvement of others as required to ensure the Finance teams embrace the various projects that impact the team
What are we looking for?
10. Professional accountancy qualification (., ACCA, ACA, CIMA or local equivalent)
11. Ideally a minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience
12. Strong technical accounting skills
13. Preferably experience working in the life insurance industry
14. Experience working on projects within a finance team would be an advantage
