The Information Technology team equips our employees with the latest tools to complete their work efficiently and with the highest standards of excellence. The team is responsible for shielding the company’s systems from security risks, while designing technology strategies that enable AIG’s businesses to achieve their goals. AIG’s Information Technology functions include application development and management, enterprise architecture, and technology risk and compliance.
About the role
What you need to know:
Within the Standard Commercial Underwriting Platform (SCUP) program, the Jr Delivery Lead role will be responsible for managing a team of technical Business Analysts, Solution Architects, UX Designers and Technical Leads to produce Requirements and Design artefacts for assigned SCUP projects. SCUP projects include a combination of new and enhanced capabilities on the Digital Workflow and Policy Administration System for Commercial Insurance.
Responsibilities
* Produce and execute plan to deliver Requirements and Design project artefacts aligned with roadmap and within budget.
* Manage team of internal and vendor resources (Business Analysts, Solution Architects, UX Designers, Technical Leads, Developers & Testers) located across North America, UK, Europe and India.
* Work with Global SCUP Product Owners to plan Requirements Gathering phase.
* Focus on successful Business outcomes while closely managing scope and timelines.
* Set and continually manage project expectations and deliverables with team members and other stakeholders.
* Track project milestones and deliverables, producing clear and concise status reports.
* Conduct retrospectives/lessons learned, and present recommendations to continually improve processes and templates.
* Estimate and track the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
* Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the team.
* Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
* Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
* Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the project.
What we’re looking for:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar
* 6+ years’ experience delivering complex system integration projects.
* Strong familiarity with IT project management methodologies and associated working practices; but comfortable with adapting management style as required.
* Experience working in insurance sector preferred.
* Proven track record of engaging with business executive stakeholders.
* Ability to drive alignment on scope, requirements, designs, development & testing across multiple diverse business groups.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Self-starter who is a proactive, motivated, and resourceful individual who takes ownership of their work, embraces challenges, and consistently strives for excellence.
* Can adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
* Flexible during times of change.
* Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
* Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, and other teams/departments.
* Experience with planning and execution tool (Rally or similar)
