Senior Buyer – Cork
My client is seeking a Senior Buyer for a full-time permanent position based in Cork.
As a Buyer, you will play a vital role in our procurement operations, taking responsibility for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, goods, and services essential to our business. The ideal candidate will bring strong negotiation skills, in-depth market knowledge, and a proven ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Source and procure materials, and services, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.
* Build and nurture supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage contracts effectively.
* Monitor procurement costs, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Oversee timely material deliveries and manage on-site inventory to prevent delays.
* Collaborate closely with project managers and site teams to ensure material requirements align with project schedules.
* Ensure all procurement activities adhere to regulations and sustainability objectives.
Candidate Profile:
* Demonstrated experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, ideally with a background in supply chain management.
* Strong negotiation skills
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
* Proficiency in procurement software, tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
* In-depth understanding of sourcing strategies, contract management, and purchasing best practices.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels.
* Self-motivated, capable of managing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards in procurement.
