Our client is a leading mechanical contractor with a manufacturing facility based in Carlow.
The QEHS Advisor is required for the day-to-day Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality functions on site, reporting to the Group QEHS Manager.
1. Provide professional support & advice to the Senior Management Team (Design & Manufacture) on Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality matters.
2. Assist employees & contractors in compliance with relevant legislation, client standards & contractual agreements.
3. Develop, promote & monitor the HSEQ culture across all activities.
4. Ensure compliance with all EHS & Quality expectations during permitting of works within the facility.
5. Ensure products are designed and manufactured in accordance with company Quality systems, Safety standards & Customer requirements.
6. Assist with quality control functions including oversight of incoming inspections, process controls/audits.
7. Prepare & update all relevant documentation in line with quality & regulatory guidelines.
8. Lead quality initiatives, providing technical support and process improvement programs.
9. Implement all applicable ISO standards.
10. Ensure clear communication between the Group EHS & Group Quality departments.
11. Analyse problems & follow through with solutions.
12. Address customer complaints, ensuring relevant documents & traceability are in place.
13. Prepare and review documentation to ensure records and reports are complete and accurate.
14. Identify and coordinate construction EHS training to meet regulatory requirements.
15. Ensure adherence to ISO14001/ISO45001/ISO9001 standards.
16. Drive programs and initiatives to foster a strong safety culture.
17. Reports to the Group EHS Manager, Group Quality Manager, and General Manager.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
1. Academic qualification in Safety (Min NEBOSH Diploma) and/or Quality Systems.
2. Experience in EHS Management Systems in a busy manufacturing environment.
3. Experience in Quality Management Systems in a busy manufacturing environment.
4. Strong organisational skills.
5. Technical capability.
6. Team player with the ability to work on own initiative.
7. Detail-oriented with the ability to operate to strict deadlines.
8. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
9. Comfortable working in a busy environment.
