As the Lead QA Engineer for the Kaseya One project, you will play a dual role that combines strong people management with deep technical expertise. You will lead and manage a team of both manual and automation QA engineers, fostering a high-performance culture and driving career development. At the same time, you will be technically hands-on—owning and advancing the Playwright-based automation framework to ensure efficient, scalable, and high-quality testing across the product.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and manage a blended QA team of manual and automation engineers, focusing on team growth, performance, and engagement.
Establish and promote best practices in test planning, execution, and reporting for both manual and automated efforts.
Design, implement, and maintain Playwright-focused automation strategies and frameworks to maximize test efficiency and coverage.
Actively contribute to writing, debugging, and executing automated tests, ensuring robust UI and API coverage.
Optimize and scale the existing automation framework for speed, reliability, and maintainability.
Oversee test execution cycles, defect management, and resolution timelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, embedding quality into every stage of the development lifecycle.
Identify quality risks, define mitigation plans, and drive continuous process and quality improvements.
Stay up to date with emerging QA trends and automation technologies, especially around Playwright and modern test practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years leading and managing QA teams, including manual and automation engineers.
Strong hands-on experience with test automation, particularly using Playwright.
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for building and maintaining automated test suites.
Experience integrating Playwright into CI/CD pipelines and workflows.
Solid understanding of both UI and API test automation principles.
Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools like JIRA.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to performance and security testing tools and practices.
Familiarity with other automation frameworks like Selenium or Cypress.
Experience with cloud-based test execution platforms.
