The main responsibility of the Land Manager is to de-risk the critical land rights required to enable the development and construction stages of a significant portfolio of Renewable Energy projects for FuturEnergy Ireland.
The Land Manager will identify and secure the necessary land rights (including project area, grid route, transport route, or ancillary rights) required to enable successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
1. Manage all land negotiation matters relating to individual renewable energy projects (primarily onshore wind, but also solar and battery) throughout the development lifecycle from inception to delivery, to include:
2. Delivery of various land agreements and land rights required for a portfolio of renewable energy projects across Ireland;
3. Management of the internal sign-off/governance approvals process;
4. Engagement and liaison with third party landowners to identify and secure various different types of land agreements for projects from early to late-stage development and into construction stages;
5. Ongoing strategic landowner relationship management ensuring smooth engagement processes are being implemented throughout the various project development stages from concept to construction and into operations;
6. Supporting project managers, land-agent consultants, community liaison officers and external solicitors to secure land agreements in line with project programme requirements;
7. Stewardship of the key relationships during the initial identification and contact establishment stages to agreement completion and ongoing management until successful project delivery;
8. Managing the prioritisation needs of the business with the corresponding forecasting and allocation of internal and out-sourced resources;
9. Procuring and managing the framework of various out-sourced service providers;
10. Management of the legal support on both sides during the agreement negotiation and finalisation process;
11. Supporting the community engagement team during the local project engagement plan implementation;
12. Close engagement with joint venture and other strategic project partners;
13. Tracking the progress of the land portfolio in the various development stages and business KPI reporting;
14. Responsible for the process to ensure that executed land agreement terms are administered per the various contract obligations;
15. Compilation of commercial and technical assessments for land rights acquisition and managing internal governance sign-off processes.

Technical / Professional Competencies
1. Extensive experience in land-based development/sales/acquisitions business is preferable;
2. Qualification in land based, business or related discipline essential;
3. Understanding of Land titles and property transactions;
4. Strong preference for prior onshore wind experience;
5. Experience of target driven acquisitions essential with proven ability to deliver;
6. Strong business acumen with keen commercial sense;
7. Familiarity with forestry licensing process beneficial but not essential;
8. Ability to work on own initiative at all times;
9. Excellent networking and interpersonal skills;
10. Diligent and meticulous in stakeholder dealings;
11. General comprehension of project management philosophy;
12. Rigorous use of reporting systems;
13. Full clean driving licence.
Flexibility is key as travel will be a key requirement of the role.
