Project HSE Advisor

The role of the Project HSE Advisor is to guide, support, and advise Project Managers and other relevant personnel on the setup, implementation, and continuous maintenance of HSE systems and standards on-site in accordance with our Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
The Role
1. Promote safe working practices and ensure the implementation of company HSE policies and procedures on-site.
2. Conduct regular site HSE inspections and report findings to relevant personnel.
3. Ensure that the project has the necessary HSE documentation.
4. Ensure that HSE project plans meet company standards.
5. Discuss HSE issues during project review meetings.
6. Maintain clear records to comply with internal and external audit standards.
7. Assist site managers and subcontractor owners with risk assessments, subcontractor evaluations, and documentation reviews when requested.
8. Deliver HSE training where appropriate, as agreed with the Project Manager.
9. Suggest, communicate, and promote initiatives for incident prevention and forward recommendations to the Project Manager / HSE & Sustainability Manager for consideration.
10. Support the Project Manager in incident investigations.
11. Stay up-to-date on Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
12. Demonstrate and promote the company’s HSE ethos, values, and concepts.
13. Act as a role model for safe behavior.
14. Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time.
15. Liaise with relevant legal authorities (i.e., H.S.A, EPA, etc.).
16. Have knowledge of all legal requirements, particularly regarding the PSCS role and duties.
17. Attend relevant HSE meetings as required.
18. Ensure all accidents and dangerous incidents are thoroughly investigated and provide reports to the HSE & Sustainability Manager, detailing causes, conclusions, and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
19. Provide the HSE Department with relevant HSE information on a quarterly basis.
Who are we looking for?
20. Level 7 qualification in Health and Safety
21. 3 years of successful postgraduate experience in Project HSE Management
22. Thorough knowledge of ISO: 45001 and ISO: 14001 standards
23. Working towards graduate membership of IOSH
24. Ability to deliver internal Health and Safety management courses
25. Ability to advise on HSE issues on a day-to-day basis on-site
26. Ability to conduct standard accident/incident investigations
27. Ability to write HSE site reports
28. A qualification in Environmental Management is desirable
