We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Drone Pilot/Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate and maintain drones for various tasks such as aerial photography, inspections, surveying, mapping, and more. As part of the role, the candidate will also be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining drone systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drone Operation:
* Safely operate drones for aerial photography, surveying, inspections, and data collection.
* Conduct pre-flight checks and ensure drones are properly set up, calibrated, and ready for operation.
* Follow flight plans and coordinate with the team to meet project requirements and timelines.
* Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
* Perform regular maintenance on drones, including hardware checks, firmware updates, and software troubleshooting.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues with drones and equipment.
* Assist with drone repairs and replacement of parts as needed.
* Compliance and Safety:
* Adhere to all relevant aviation and drone operation regulations (e.g., IAA rules, GDPR).
* Maintain records of flights, inspections, and maintenance logs.
* Ensure safe and responsible operation in all environments and weather conditions.
* Data Collection & Reporting:
* Collect and process aerial data such as images, videos, or mapping data.
* Assist with data analysis and the creation of reports based on collected data.
* Ensure data integrity and secure storage.
* Client Interaction (if applicable):
* Engage with clients to understand their requirements and provide project updates.
* Provide technical support and advice as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Valid Irish drone pilot license (e.g., IAA-approved Remote Pilot License, A1/A3 or A2).
* Full Clean UK/Irish Driving License
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
* Proven experience in operating drones for commercial purposes (photography, surveying, inspections, etc.).
* Strong knowledge of drone systems, hardware, and software (e.g., DJI, Parrot, etc.).
* Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain drone equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
* Familiarity with drone-related software such as flight planning tools, data analysis tools, and GIS software.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* Additional certifications (e.g., advanced drone operation, first aid).
* Experience with 3D mapping, surveying, or LiDAR technology.
* Technical background in electronics, aviation, or related fields.
* Previous experience in client-facing roles or project management.
* Agricultural industry background.
Working Conditions:
* Office and fieldwork environment.
* Occasional travel to different work sites within Ireland.
* Flexible working hours may be required based on project needs.
