Job Description
The role of a Fire, Explosion and Forensic Engineer at FWG Forensics is an exciting and varied opportunity for individuals with an electrical, mechanical or fire engineering background.
A hands-on trade background is an added advantage but not necessary. Postgraduate experience would be a distinct advantage.
About the Role
The job involves examining and documenting fire and water damaged buildings, writing reports to clients, and adapting to a changing environment. Mentoring and on-the-job training will be provided.
No past experience is required in forensic investigations. The work will involve 40% site visits across Ireland and possibly further afield, and 60% office time in Rathnew, Co Wicklow.
Key Responsibilities
* Origin and Cause Investigations: Attending scenes, recording details, securing evidence and gathering witness statements.
* Reviewing building regulations, standards and guidelines to identify potential causes of fires and explosions.
* Fault diagnoses and complex problem solving through internet research and analysis of product recalls.
Requirements
* An electrical, mechanical or fire engineering background and associated academic qualifications.
* An observant and inquisitive mind.
* Comfortable working in various environments, including excavating fire- or water-damaged buildings.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Word and a full driving licence.
