As we prepare to expand our business services in one branch, People First Credit Union Ltd is inviting applications for the position of full time, 12 month fixed term contract as a Member Service Representative (MSR). With this role, the applicant will primarily be based in the Portlaoise office but may be required to work in our other branches in line with the needs of the business. This is a full-time role with a requirement to work 37 hours per week, working Tuesday to Saturday. The successful applicant will work as part of the member services team responsible for providing an excellent service experience to members and potential members at the counter, on the phone, and through electronic means. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring that the relevant Individual Accountability Framework responsibilities are met, in line with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To provide a quality service to members at the counter, to process lodgements, withdrawals, loan draw down, and repayments.
2. Process direct debits, standing orders, EFTs, and amend mandates.
3. Accurately and competently handle cash, reconciling cash balances daily.
4. With training, develop an excellence in resolving member queries to the highest levels of service across diverse areas from advising on credit union products to the various methods members can access these services.
5. Ensure compliance with existing and new systems & controls, and policies & procedures necessary, as outlined by the Risk, Compliance, MLRO & DPO, the Internal Audit Function, and Operations Manager.
6. Complete other duties as required by the management team.
The successful candidate must have:
1. Demonstrable “member service” credentials with an ability and desire to enhance member service at every opportunity.
2. Excellent I.T. and administration skills with a strong compliance ethos for a “right first time” approach to work.
3. Experience working in a frontline role within a credit union or financial institution would be a distinct advantage.
4. Team worker with strong communications and organisational skills.
5. Full clean driving licence.
6. An appreciation and an awareness of the credit union ethos.
7. An APA qualification in Lending is advantageous towards this position.
While not essential from the outset, an APA in Lending, QFA, CUA, or actively working towards a qualification in lending is preferable. However, the chosen applicant must be willing to commence registration by September 2025 and exams thereafter, in line with the Minimum Competency Code (MCC) requirements for the role.
