Transaction Monitoring Associate
We are currently working with a leading Wealth Management firm who is looking to add a Transaction Monitoring Associate to their team. The successful candidate will join a new transaction monitoring team to identify, assess and report suspicious transaction activity and to assess PEP and sanction risk.
* Operating in the first line of defense as part of a team of AML professionals conducting ongoing surveillance and investigations on customer activities
* Becoming an expert in the firm's systems to ensure all monitoring and screening activities are effectively documented in compliance with internal standards and regulatory expectations
* Analyzing customer transactions with reference to their risk profile and history to determine a reasonable basis for potentially suspicious transactions
* Assessing screening alerts for political exposure and sanctions
* Assisting in the development of AML procedures across the first line of defense
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in law, business, finance or accounting preferred or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or similar Compliance diploma or accreditation
* Knowledge of financial crime methods – smurfing, money in/out
* Good knowledge of the Criminal Justice Act obligations and CBI Guidelines relating to reporting of potentially suspicious activity
* Strong analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Self-motivated with the ability to work in a small team
