Post Summary Trinity Sustainability welcomes applications from candidates with demonstrated excellence in biodiversity for the position of Biodiversity Officer. A successful candidate must be willing and able to support the team in delivering biodiversity initiatives and providing ecological advice. The post-holder will collaborate closely with the Vice President for Biodiversity and Climate Action (VPBCA) and engage with key stakeholders within and beyond the College, including the Healthy Campus Manager, biodiversity researchers, and relevant professional teams across Trinity (including Estates and Facilities, Financial Services Division, Data Analytics and Strategic Initiatives Unit, Trinity Research, and Trinity Innovation) to deliver ‘Nature Positive by 2030’ target. The Biodiversity Officer will be responsible for developing and supporting strategies, plans, and projects related to biodiversity including drafting and implementing biodiversity plans, coordinating initiatives, managing external relations, reporting, and overseeing Trinity Sustainability’s delivery of biodiversity actions outlined within Trinity’s Sustainability Strategy 2030. The post-holder will play a pivotal role in supporting a growing team within Trinity Sustainability. Post status: Fixed-Term Contract This is a 3-year Fixed Term Contract. The duration of this contract is limited to the above fixed term in order for the successful candidate to develop a Biodiversity Plan for the university, develop a central biodiversity data repository and develop a biodiversity awareness campaign, amongst other responsibilities. This contract is therefore limited to a fixed term and is not being offered on a permanent basis, as the specific scope of responsibilities associated with these biodiversity initiatives aligns with Trinity's sustainability objectives and is expected to conclude within the period outlined.
