Job Title: Mechanical Fitter
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join one of our clients, a leading pet food manufacturer in Europe.
The company operates multiple production facilities across six countries and is experiencing significant growth, with an annual turnover exceeding €300 million.
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all production machinery and plant services, including:
* Repairing components and overhauls
* Sensors and systems
* Steam, air, water, and debugging
To be successful in this role, you should have experience working with fluids, pumps, valves, controllers, and packing equipment. Key skills include:
* Senior Trades level or comparable European NFQ qualifications
* NCEA Cert./Diploma in Electro-Mechanical discipline
* FETAC Level 6 Accreditation or equivalent
Additional requirements include:
* Safety awareness and GMP compliance
* Troubleshooting and repair experience of manufacturing equipment
* Interest in improving processes
* Excellent writing, record keeping, and communication skills
* Team player with PC literacy and basic navigation skills
Key Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on repairs and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and engineering best practices.
Carry out reactive and planned maintenance for offline and online equipment to ensure maximum uptime.
Act as the first point of contact for mechanical maintenance requests from internal teams and escalate issues beyond their remit.
Complete assigned maintenance tasks and identify material or labour needs for additional requests.
Conduct technical investigations when required and promptly report any safety or food safety concerns.
