We are now inviting applications for the above post for suitably qualified applicants The ideal candidate will: Enrolled and studying Pharmacy is essential University College Cork (UCC), Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), and Trinity College Dublin (Trinity). Experience of working in a pharmacy environment is desirable but not essential. Have excellent time management and organisational skills Be flexible and capable of working on his/her own initiative Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be committed to quality improvement. Must have basic knowledge of how to use a computer to perform tasks The duties of the position include: Participation in the organising and assisting in the day-to-day workflow in the pharmacy department. Participation in the supply of drugs, pharmaceuticals and other related items as may be required under the supervision of a basic/senior grade technician and or qualified pharmacist Participation in the purchase, storage and management of pharmacy stock at pharmacy and ward level including date control and stock rotation under the supervision of a basic/senior grade technician and or qualified pharmacist Answering any pharmacy related queries from members of staff or public within the scope of practice and under the direct supervision of the pharmacist in charge. Participation in the answering and managing of departmental phone calls on a daily basis and dealing with queries where practical or diverting to the appropriate qualified individual Collection & Distribution of morning post & delivery of outgoing post to Post room and any other documentation to other areas as applicable Charging of Stock Movements towards/units from pharmacy and sundry debtors Charging of Stock usage to individual patients from either pharmacy or a secondary location Processing and documentation control i.e., reconciling of prescriptions for submission for reimbursement. Filing of prescriptions, associated documentation and other departmental documentation in the dispensary/compounding unit Checking and amending charge sheets (oncology and dispensary) on return from accounts for correct posting to the patients account and scanning to appropriate folder on shared area In conjunction with senior purchasing technician identify credit notes required from suppliers Responsible for processing returns to suppliers where applicable Performance of other duties appropriate to the post as may be assigned by the Senior Pharmaceutical Technician and Chief Pharmacists.
