ROLE:
Mechanical & Electrical CoordinatorAs an M&E Coordinator with Kilcawley Construction you will report directly to a Contracts Manager and you would be tasked with assisting Project Managers on projects to effectively procure, manage and handover mechanical and electrical subcontractor scope forming part of a larger building project.
The role involves actively participating in the safe, timely execution of the works in accordance with the project budgetary, programme and quality requirements.
GeneralSupport the Contracts Manager and a number of Project Manager to effectively delivery the mechanical and electrical delivery on large building projects with project values from €3m to €20mFirst point of contact for M&E sub-contractor and Design Team on queriesChair and produce minutes for fortnightly MEP Coordination meetings with the M&E contractors & design team to run through programme and progress, and any design matters.
First point of contact for M&E sub-contractor and Design Team on queriesSense check on M&E RFIs and submittals and maintaining updated logsMaintain oversight of commissioning progress/programme particularly in relation to safety critical systems required for Practical Completion as well as keep an oversight on commissioning activitiesSnagging of M&E installations and recording on iPad AppAs required, BIM coordination of M&E services within the building across M&E contractors and CSA packages and production of M&E installation drawingsAs required, producing builders works (BwIC) drawings for service opens through walls and floorsAwareness of project specific Design Responsibilities within the contract by MEP specialists if any, and that by design Consultants.
Ensure all MEP Inspection reports are addressed & closed as the works progress, to ensure compliance for BCAR.Actively communicate with MEP specialists and consultants to ensure all BCAR & O&M/Safety file document requirements are issued in a timely manner in advance of handover.
Health and SafetyEnsuring safety critical mechanical and electrical installations are fully functional prior to handing over a building to a ClientEnsure that the works are delivered in the safest manner possible, with the support of the Site Manager, H&S Advisor and Contracts Manager, in accordance with all legislative requirementsAssisting M&E contractors on site to execute works as per their approved method statement & risk assessmentReporting of all safety incidents and/or accidents to the Safety Advisor & Company Directors in strict accordance with company protocols as requiredHelp the company achieve our goal of Zero Harm on all our worksites to all our workers and third parties we interface withTechnical/ QualityFull responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple projects both from a time scale & commercial prospective.
Ensuring that the project is delivered on time, snag free to the satisfaction of the ClientHave a good technical understanding of:
* HVAC systems
* Fire alarm systems
* Lighting and Emergency Systems
* LTHW systems including gas installation requirements and BMS interfaces
* Electrical distribution and sub-distribution requirements
* Access and maintenance requirements
* Commissioning of integrated building systems Coordinate and liaise with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers and Services Coordinator to ensure that all subcontractors and site personnel have timely and accurate informationResolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise from revised details issued or from situations as they arise on siteEnsuring that all materials used, and work performed are as per specification and drawing requirementsEnsuring that all subcontractors execute their works as per their approved Inspection and Testing Plans and sign off inspection records as requiredManagementAct as first point of contact for day-to-day M&E sub-contractor and Design Team queries and issuesLiaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project to ensure timely successful completionBeing familiar with the contract documents supplied by the Client/architectMonitor progress against the Contract Programme and escalate any delays or risk of delay to the Site Manager to mitigateAssist in the production and revision of the contract and sub-programmes with the Contracts Manager & PlannerAct in a courteous and professional manner at all times while protecting the position of the business What You Need Relevant Third level qualification (Engineering
