An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Motor Casualty Claims Team in Aviva as a Senior Technical Claims Advisor. While our preference is for the successful candidate to be located in our Cork office, we are open to candidates being located in our Galway or Dublin offices.
The successful candidate will assist the Claims Executive in the management of the team while acting as a point of referral and technical support to team members dealing with Motor Insurers Bureau of Ireland (MIBI) and Insurer Concerned cases.
You will assist in mentoring and identifying training and development needs and employee issues, while also acting as a role model of behaviours, supporting full compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements. You will also support and contribute to relevant forums across the Casualty Claims team and wider claim’s function encouraging an open learning environment whilst ensuring we adhere to and remain consistent in our approach to adopting estimating guidelines and promoting technical excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Management of a portfolio of complex Motor Insurers Bureau of Ireland (MIBI) and Insurer Concerned claim files.
* Be a support and technical referral point for team members on complex queries.
* Support Senior management in the implementation of claims strategies as agreed by claims management.
* Participate and support the Risk & Governance management on behalf of the team.
* Act as a point of escalation for individual cases within relevant authorisation limits.
* Ensure claims estimates for assigned portfolios within the team are accurate and reflect the up-to-date known position.
* Manage payment authorisation process and quality assurance programme for the team.
* Willingness to travel to attend court and support wider casualty settlement strategy when required.
Skills & Experience:
* APA in Personal and Commercial General Insurance/CIP Qualified.
* Comprehensive understanding of claims handling, legal processes, MIBI Agreements and the CPC.
* High level of initiative and ability to make real time decisions based on changing information.
* Problem solving expertise in managing the expectations of customers, intermediaries and third parties and their legal representatives.
* Understanding of the litigation process from District Court to High Court Level.
* Successfully able to manage conflict resolution at personal and stakeholder level to ultimate resolution.
* Ability to analyse Data and MI to improve performance.
