Role: European Road Freight Forwarder
Location: Dublin 24
Type: Full-time, permanent, hybrid role (1-2 days within the office per week) with flexi-start available.
Package: €40-50,000 with VHI, Pension and Bonus
Multinational global logistics provider now seeks an experienced Road Freight Forwarder for their South Dublin HQ. The company has a very ambitious management team and is happy to structure a package to attract a like-minded individual. The purpose of the role is to assist the Operations Manager in the effective running of the Operations Department by compiling, agreeing & managing freight forwarding clients and business plans where appropriate; ensuring operational plans are developed and implemented to ensure the achievement of freight forwarding business objectives; ensuring that road freight SLAs are met.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Ensure smooth operational running of operations freight forwarding clients to include European Road, Short Sea, Customs and Warehouse activities.
* Management of supplier relationships to ensure that SLAs are achieved.
* Ensuring that service is maintained at the levels agreed within contracts.
* Defining, compiling & analysing agreed KPI information to ensure optimal efficiency & performance.
* Producing statistical information relating to clients.
* Reviewing & monitoring internal processes to ensure optimum efficiencies.
* Ensuring that operational plans are developed and implemented in line with business objectives.
* Developing close relationships with clients through regular communication and meetings, developing and maintaining confidence and encouraging loyalty.
* Reviewing & analysing contract performance with customers, recommending & initiating improvement plans where appropriate.
* Ensuring that customers are kept fully informed about issues that affect contract performance.
* Design and presentation of appropriate client KPIs.
* Identifying, developing and pursuing organic business growth opportunities with current clients.
Experience, Education & Skills:
* Minimum of 2-3 years recent experience within European road freight forwarding operations.
* Experience in fast-paced operations environment, objective setting, including the establishment and monitoring of SLAs/KPIs.
* Experience of managing key clients.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
* Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with clients, suppliers, sales team, management and team.
* Leaving Cert or equivalent.
* Strong IT literacy including a strong understanding of maximising the effective utilisation of technology.
* Commercially focused on maximising margin potential.
* Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
