To continue our success in the Bridge sector, we are looking for a Principal Engineer to join us.
Working on a variety of new and existing bridges, you'll check and assess projects across a wide variety of bridges and other complex structures.
Your key responsibilities will be: Checking and assessing projects across a wide range of both new and existing bridges or other complex structures Supervising the delivery of your projects to time and budget, ensuring a high standard of technical quality and compliance with our internal management systems Managing, mentoring, and developing less experienced engineers and technicians within your project teams, working with line managers to maximize training opportunities Developing and maintaining client relationships through your project work, including identifying and realizing any potential business opportunities Assisting with the preparation of bids and tenders and supporting the Directors in pursuing business development opportunities if required Production of engineering design, assessment, or checking work including preparation or checking of calculations, written reports, and other contracts Your skills.

On top of that, you'll have: Chartered civil or structural engineer (MICE, MIStructE, or equivalent) Significant experience in a design environment working on bridges, heavy civil, or other complex structures in Ireland or internationally Significant experience leading project teams and supervising the delivery of projects, either as a client's or contractor's designer, ideally both Be an accomplished team leader with the ability to support, mentor, and develop less experienced engineers Interpersonal skills and aptitude to work collaboratively in a diverse multi-disciplinary team Professional communication skills, both verbal and written Technical skills as an engineer, able to demonstrate a deep understanding and enthusiasm for structural engineering and a personal commitment to technical excellence A place to work and so much more At COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and livable world.
