Essential Eligibility Criteria:
* Registered in the Register of Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland or entitled to be registered
* At least five years of satisfactory post-registration hospital pharmacy experience
* Experience with supervision and training of other pharmacy staff
* Postgraduate qualification in a relevant area
Purpose of this Role:
The Chief II Pharmacist will lead and manage the pharmacy service, working closely with the Chief I Pharmacist to ensure compliance with legislative and quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
* Deputising for the Chief I Pharmacist in their absence and taking responsibility for operational duties
* Managing the dispensary and clinical services of the pharmacy department at BSHL under the direction of the Chief I Pharmacist
* Ensuring adequate policies and procedures support the pharmaceutical service provided by dispensary-based pharmacy staff and clinical pharmacists
* Supervising and supplying drugs, pharmaceuticals, and related items as required
* Collecting, interpreting, and presenting data on dispensary and clinical activities to the Chief I Pharmacist
* Participating in teaching and training (including in-service training) of pharmacy and other staff as required
* Identifying equipment defects, reporting mishaps, and investigating findings as required
