PE Global are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a Building Services consultancy developing state of the art designs across Commercial, Education and Industrial.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer opportunity is to join a progressive Engineering Consultancy practice in Cork. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for projects spanning Munster and Ireland across a wide range of building sectors delivering low energy projects from conceptual design through to building handover and beyond.
Duties:
1. Designing and reviewing design work of junior engineers.
2. Compilation of Specifications for Mechanical Services and Installations.
3. Ensuring full co-ordination between specifications and drawings.
4. Estimating, cost control, compiling project reports.
5. Project planning, conceptual design studies and reports.
6. Training and professional development of junior and intermediate engineers working as part of a group.
7. Building client relationships and acting in a client facing role.
8. Liaising with architects, clients and other stakeholders to set the constraints of the electrical design and co-ordinate with all other disciplines.
9. Responsible for ensuring best-practice engineering expertise throughout the company is implemented and improved, while also progressing the development of Graduate Engineers and Technicians through mentoring and overseeing their work.
Requirements:
1. Must have a Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
2. Chartership, or in the process of gaining Chartership in the near future is a distinct advantage.
3. Minimum of 7 years’ postgraduate experience along with evidence of career progression and management of (or significant input into) small to medium scale projects.
4. Ability to lead projects and be able to take a brief from the project lead on large projects and deliver and control the tasks required.
5. Demonstrable experience of client-facing roles, an appreciation of and an understanding of the importance of prompt and efficient response and resolution to client needs.
Competencies and Aptitudes:
1. Excellent people management and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others in the pursuit of team objectives.
2. Excellent negotiation skills with outstanding verbal & written communication skills.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent Excel skills and relevant Technical software tools.
4. Clean driving license.
