Senior Psychologist Role
We are seeking a Senior Psychologist to join our team at the Irish Prison Service, Portlaoise Prison, Co. Laois.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the psychology service and working with individuals who have been referred due to various challenges including mental health difficulties, offence-specific needs, developmental disorders, and intellectual difficulties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Completion and supervision of comprehensive assessments and formulation of individuals referred to the psychology service
* Developing behaviour monitoring procedures for each individual
* Providing a significant specialist contribution to multi-disciplinary Care and Management Planning for each person
* Engaging in and supervising evidence-based psychological interventions as recommended in the Care and Management Plan
Working Environment:
The role requires regular contact with community agencies involved in support and resettlement, as well as working with families and carers of those in custody.
Requirements:
* Eligibility for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS)
* A postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology recognised by PSI or Counselling Psychology recognised by PSI
* A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience as a Psychologist
Desirable Requirements:
* Experience in addressing emotional, mental health and offence-related difficulties with a forensic population and in a group setting
* Experience of providing consultation, education, guidance and support to multidisciplinary colleagues
