Occupational Therapist – Adult Primary Care
Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding role in adult primary care? Our client is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated team in Clondalkin, working with adults to enhance their independence, function, and overall quality of life.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic OT to gain valuable experience in a multidisciplinary primary care setting, providing person-centred interventions to adults with a range of physical, cognitive, and sensory challenges.
About the Role:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in assessing and treating adults within a primary care setting. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting individuals to achieve their functional goals and participate more fully in daily life.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:
1. Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for adults with various conditions.
2. Develop individualised treatment plans to support independence and improve quality of life.
3. Provide rehabilitation interventions, including assistive technology recommendations and environmental adaptations.
4. Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care.
5. Educate patients and their families on strategies to enhance daily living skills and prevent further functional decline.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in line with professional and legal requirements.
7. Participate in service development initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided.
Essential Requirements for the Occupational Therapist:
1. CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
2. Experience or strong interest in working with adults in a primary care setting.
3. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
4. Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
5. Commitment to evidence-based practice, ongoing learning, and service improvement.
